Adaptive Pilates Teaching Skills Workshop
With over 30 years of teaching experience, Atlas Pilates founder and teacher trainer Teresa Shupe will lead a special three-day Pilates teacher training weekend at Kinetic MKE in Milwaukee. Having trained instructors alongside Lori Coleman-Brown for nearly 20 years, Teresa offers a depth of knowledge that provides a unique opportunity for local teachers.
The program features 12 hours of teacher-focused workshops on Saturday and Sunday, following a day of private and semi-private sessions on Friday.
Known for a teaching style that is thoughtful and principled without being overly rigid, Teresa encourages instructors to be more selective and intentional, helping them find deeper meaning in their work to achieve positive results. Don’t miss this opportunity to move and learn with this respected teacher making a rare visit to the Midwest.

Teach the Person in Front of You
Build your Pilates Clientele
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (w. one hour lunch break)
Being able to teach the whole person – not just the body – can lead to better client retention and teacher satisfaction. In this workshop we’ll explore how to discover your client’s unique motivations and challenges – learn to guide them toward meaningful results that keep them coming back for more.
During this workshop you’ll learn ways to organize to develop a thriving clientele that you love to teach. You’ll also get to move! You’ll have time to ask questions and we’ll spend time practicing and teaching exercises. And Teresa will lead you in workouts throughout this workshop.
Express Yourself, but Don’t Wreck Yourself
Non-Verbal Communication Skills for Teaching Pilates
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (w. one hour lunch break)
Facial expressions, body posture and body language, hands on guidance and blocking – where you stand – all create layers of richness and communication in your teaching. In this workshop you’ll learn some universal non-verbal communication skills and practice using them to teach Pilates.
Learning to use these skills can help you conserve your own energy so you can teach a full day without becoming exhausted. You’ll also learn and practice Classical hands on techniques. Teresa will lead you in workouts throughout this workshop.
