In this series, we will discriminate and decide what’s in and what’s out. Practice where (and when) the folds, spaces and stretches happen while exercising toward performance of classic Pilates exercises.

We require participants to sign up for the entire series as the material is progressive and builds on the ideas presented in prior workshops.
June 11th – 8.1: Attention
Refresh your experience of centering instructions including “scoop” and “pull your stomach in” by changing to an interior perspective. When are these go-to cues helpful? When do they get in the way? Explore the front of your back, the back of your front and the geometry of your diaphragm. “Re-lease” your live shape-shifting center while doing Contrology.
June 18th – 8.2: V Stance
Relate the V Stance to leg and hip positions up the leg, to the seat and beyond. Re-assign the “rotatores” and explore co-contraction, flesh intentions and locations of the muscles that fold and “wrap.” Examine your “piece of pie.” Discover whole body commitment around the shape of your “V.”
June 25th – 8.3: Row Your Boat
Exercise and strengthen the breath from an inside point of view. Establish and shape shift the body around the airway during the Rowing Series. Breathe through the ocean of “woulda, coulda, shoulda’s” and experience how unfolding your breath can be your Pilates superpower.
