Primed to Learn explores how we learn within the complexity of Pilates — whether as a client, trainee, or teacher.
We don’t learn in the same way at every stage of experience. What we are able to notice, retrieve, integrate, and do with information changes over time.
As we gain experience, we become increasingly able to:
- notice and organize more
- connect details into patterns
- integrate what we know
- use that knowledge with greater flexibility
This workshop looks at how learning actually works: how memory, repetition, embodiment, and layered skill development help information become increasingly usable. We’ll look at how this shows up in Pilates — how we learn a complex system like the Pilates Method, make sense of its many details, recognize patterns, and gradually become more able to apply what we know in our own bodies and practice.
We will also explore how to develop effective learning practices, intentionally investigate gaps, and better understand what might help us take the next step.
