Ian is a Seattle native and lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest. He was a nationally ranked wrestler during his school years. Working closely with his coaches, he learned to develop himself physically and mentally through intensive year round training. Unfortunately, he suffered repeated injuries, and ultimately a fracture in his L4 vertebra which required a spinal fusion and forced his retirement from competitive sports.
“Teaching is one of the first things I knew I wanted to do, as far back as I can remember.”
Ian discovered Atlas Pilates in 2015 and instantly connected with the method. With Pilates workouts he experienced immediate improvement of his back pain. And after three years as a client, working out in the studio, he made the decision to enroll in the Atlas Pilates Teacher Training Program to study with Lori Coleman-Brown. He graduated in 2019, after excelling during the year of full-time comprehensive classical Pilates education, and accepted the offer to join our teaching staff before the ink was even dry on his diploma.
