The Pilates Fundamentals Seminar provides essential material for aspiring Pilates teachers.
We’ll explore the principles and practice the basic exercises with intention and an eye towards their practical application.
Learn the exercises Joseph Pilates created to foster his distinct ideas of “normal health,” “natural law,” “self knowledge,” and “breathing properly.”
Fundamentals Seminar Plan:
- Review the curriculum list Pilates exercises and principles we have found to be foundational to practitioners on the mat and major apparatus.
- Explore and practice a wide range of teaching techniques for fundamental exercises including breakdowns, modifications and enhancements that help practitioners excel.
- Discuss Pilates philosophy and approach with focus on the basic functional movements and relevant structural anatomy. Introduce the concept of body literacy.
- Practice, learn to recognize and begin to cultivate standard alignments, posture, muscular actions, and rhythms in order to assist and challenge bodies in action.
- Introduce fundamental program design for healthy bodies.

Extra hours have been opened on Lori’s calendar to accommodate attendees. Atlas Pilates Staff Instructors are also available for Workouts. All Pilates lessons are subject to availability and invoiced separately.
