Our Pilates Teachers

Atlas Pilates teachers have been rigorously trained and certified in the Pilates Method, they do Pilates themselves, and consistently participate in Pilates Continuing Education.

Our studio exclusively employs Pilates instructors who have passed a comprehensive year-long Classical Pilates training program and have successfully completed a series of progressively complex written and practical tests. Their thorough training ensures that any of the instructors can teach individuals or groups safely using all of the Pilates apparatus. Any of the instructors are able to develop individualized workout regimens for all types of bodies and all ages of clients. They maintain a collaborative and collegial environment, free of rigid orthodoxy and amenable to progress, in which clients are able to reach their fitness goals efficiently and safely. Several of the instructors are also physical therapists and all are able to work closely with the physical therapists on premises.

Atlas Pilates InstructorsWe’re on the lookout for another great instructor to help our clients reach their fitness goals in our Seattle studio. We’re Pilates believers, having witnessed the transformative power of this meaningful work to change lives for the better. Our aim is to find a like-minded good fit for our studio. We pride ourselves on being able to intelligently match any client with any of our colleagues, trusting that the client will have a positive experience. Our clients have high expectations and aspirations, and so do we.

Here are some of the basic qualities we look for in a candidate:

  • Classical Pilates trained from a reputable program (600+ Hours with written and practical tests).
  • Pilates personal skills, abilities, and appreciation (Find your work in your body).
  • Body literacy (Can you read the body in front of you?).
  • An easy smile, a sense of humor, and a lot of patience.
  • Genuinely curious and a determined problem solver.
  • Emotional intelligence, confidence and the ability to work independently with professional autonomy.
  • Stamina (this is not a desk job).

Our calendar is nearly always full, and we’ll work hard to quickly build your schedule. We expect our instructors to teach Pilates exclusively for us, and to be available 20-30 hours per week. We offer competitive pay, annual bonuses and occasional parties. We keep a well maintained and well managed studio environment, where every tool is in its place, the atmosphere is collegial, and instructors have a great deal of autonomy.

If this sounds like the place for you, then let us know!
